I was in a car accident in 2013 and received a whiplash and a fractured sternum, which resulted in chest and back pain, headaches and some breathing issues. I already had some issues with arthritis and of course, this interrupted my life… and my sleep. I came to the October 2015 Low Back Pain Workshop after having been on a short vacation to Myrtle Beach, where it had been painful to sit, walk, lie down, tie my shoes.. And I needed help getting in and out of the car. My biggest take-away from the workshop, was there was hope for me. I started coming to PT here in November, and I realized just how limited my mobility and ROM really were. I’ve always known that the knee bones connect to the hip bone’…but I could see, experientially, that “Imbalance influences the whole body.” I appreciated the explanation about pain-symptoms-cause-and dysfunction. They don’t just treat the symptoms…they see the dysfunction and then go after the cause. I love their hands-on approach at Superior. I love the explanations and instruction they give and simple, do-able home exercises. I love that these Physical Therapists have several ways to get your body to move. So if it’s painful one way, they will implement a way for you where there is little or no pain. I have seen improvement in mobility and Range of Motion…I am back to walking a few miles at a time (without paying for it in pain)… I can stand for longer periods of time without pain, I can tie my shoes and find it much easier getting in and out of the car. I know some stretches/exercises to relieve pain if it shows up. And, my sleep has improved. And that’s a big deal! Thanks to the great team at Superior PT; I will definitely keep sharing my experience at Superior with my Friends!-Anne Smith
